Questions people ask
Do I need accounting software?
No. Connect Xero, QuickBooks or Sage if you have one. If you don't, connect your bank, forward your bills to your Farben address, and fill in a few short spreadsheets we send you. Either way you get the same year-end pack.
Will my accountant accept this?
That is what it is built for. They get a free seat, the full workbook with lead schedules and VAT reconciliation, a trial balance CSV for their software, and every source document indexed against the transactions.
What are the seven processes?
Bills, banking, sales, cash, contracts, controls and year end. Starter covers the four that keep your books straight. Core runs all seven, which is where Farben starts working on its own rather than waiting for you.
What can I ask it?
On Starter, anything about your transactions and documents: what you spent with a supplier, where an invoice went, what a bill was for. On Core, the same across contracts and your cash forecast. On Growth, across every company at once.
What counts as a document?
A bill, receipt, contract or statement page you send us to read. Bank feed transactions do not count, however many you have. Allowances pool over the quarter, so a busy month is fine.
What if I go over the allowance?
We will offer you 500 more for £15. We never stop working mid-month and we never hold your books hostage over a document count.
Can Farben move my money?
No. We read your bank, we never initiate payments. Nothing posts to your accounts without your approval, and every action links back to the transaction behind it.
What happens if I leave?
You take everything with you. Your books come out as Excel and CSV, your documents download as files. No export fee, no notice period, cancel from your settings.
Is there a setup fee?
No. Getting your opening balances right matters, so we do that with you as part of joining, whichever plan you pick.
Can I change plan later?
Any time, up or down, effective immediately with the difference prorated. Moving down keeps your history; you simply stop seeing the features you have dropped.
